Preservation
The Committee meets Sunday to make final paint selections. The lights in the
Lobby are all rewired, and plastering will begin in the Lobby on Monday. There
may be some taping visible on Sunday if they start their prep work this week. The
plasterer is doing a test spot for texture on the Hearth Room ceiling.
Building Project
On the office side there are stub walls dropping from the ceiling to
show where the original partitions were. The order for new furniture
went in today, so colors and furnishings are set. The offices
will be beautiful!
If you peek over the caution tape, you can see skeins of blue wires. These are Voice/Data lines. It’s hard to believe that we used to get by with one or two.
The concrete smashing is done, so the floors will be back in next week, followed by walls, then wiring. Sprinklers are roughed in and wallboard goes up next week.
The architects have given us those boards with tiles and such for the D-Wing. They will be in either the Conference Room or my office until there is less chaos in the Auditorium.
Volunteer
There will be a mortar chipping event for the next four Saturdays from
9 to 11 AM. We have gloves, goggles, and some tools but feel free
to bring your own. The stacks of clean stone keep growing.
