First, kudos, thanks and respect to Tom, Kira, Liisa and Dan, our maintenance and setup crew who work miracles every Friday afternoon and Saturday morning to tame the week’s chaos and restore tranquility to our worship space.  The photos do not convey the upheaval they confront.

Our construction sign is up, carefully placed to redirect foot traffic away from the heavily compacted paths.

A Wing
The lobby is painted, and the Staff is relieved to have regained access to indoor plumbing.  We intend to take some time refurnishing the Lobby, with the goal of developing a plan to keep clutter under better control.  I am amazed at how the colors take on a variety of tones, playing with the angles and shadows.

Excavation continues for the "D" wing and surveying begins.

The Auditorium lights are all rewired, the new bulbs are being tested at the suppliers.  Painters are taking their turn in the air, bringing in two more lifts.  Patching and priming are complete for the ceiling, and they expect to have one color coat done by Sunday.  Can you see the microphone wires in the photo?  They really are tiny.  As our Webcast becomes more popular, we need to provide decent sound.
Plastering in the Offices starts Thursday in A12 (soon to be known as Michael’s Office).  We still have a leak above the Room Formerly Known as Michael’s Office.  Our Roof people will present a plan this afternoon.

B Wing
Several rooms are painted, and cabinets arrived yesterday.  Woodwork is going back up.  Sarah and the Nursery School teachers (and me) are thrilled with the colors.  We are using the same color as the Auditorium ceiling for the ceilings with a soft yellow on the walls.

A retention system for rainwater is being installed.

D Wing
Dig, Dig, Dig!  Rain gardens, storm sewers in the courtyards, then out to the B Wing to get enough room to cut through the wall.  The tight space requires tight choreography, because we can’t bring heavy equipment back in once we pour footings.

Volunteers
Many thanks to the Rock Crew.  We have temporarily worked ourselves out of a job until more stone is taken down.  We are discussing reorganizing as “The Saturday Morning Grunt Group”, dedicated to mindless but satisfying tasks.

Free Stuff
Last call for fluorescent fixtures!  I am going to list the on Madison Freecycle.  There are also some sinks from the Nursery school
