Installing beam b-25 in the new addition.
David Weber is on vacation.
Restoration and the A Wing:
The heating and ventilation folks are back, doing a little more sound-deadening to the historic Auditorium venting system. It seems to me it has made quite a difference, with wonderful fresh, warmed air in the Auditorium on Sunday mornings.
Lights Going In
The new lights for the staff offices have arrived and are being installed. They are remarkably interesting and beautiful, covered with a soft, loose silk fabric. They make me think of glowing clouds, and give a wonderful soft light. The lights were designed and made by Fire Farm Lighting of northeast Iowa. You can see more of their work at firefarm.com.
New Construction Continues
Despite the Cold
Our Findorff crew is here and carrying on, working in the 15-degree weather and appreciating the sheltered nature of the new addition. The concentration right now is completing the "glu-lam" structural skeleton of beams and posts, to be followed by a "TGI" floor system. Despite the less than stellar weather (rain is predicted this weekend) the project appears to be progressing well.
