Ours is one of nearly 1100 Unitarian Universalist congregations in North America and is the largest in the upper Midwest. FUS membership is drawn from a sixty-mile radius and boasts a vibrant mix of young and old, male and female, gay and straight, tradespeople, professionals, students and entrepreneurs. [read more]
Spirituality is not simply a Sunday morning affair at the First Unitarian Society of Madison. Although we offer thoughtful pulpit presentations and inspiring music at our three weekend worship services, opportunities for involvement are available seven days a week. [read more]

Reformation and the American Revolution. Unitarianism’s story in Madison begins in 1879
when a number of the city’s most distinguished citizens founded a congregation
based on the principles articulated in a “Bond of Union” they composed.
