Environmental Action Committee

When we deny there is consciousness in nature, we also deny

consciousness to the worlds we find by going through nature; and

we end with only one world, the world of MacDonald's, and that

one is exploitable.

You can help FUS live the UU Seventh Principle of Respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part.  We enthusiastically welcome new members.  We are a Green Sanctuary with the UU Ministry for Earth and  meet every first Thursday of the month at 7:00 p.m in the Channing trailer at FUS.

Our five broad goals are to:

Build a connection between spiritual practice and environmental consciousness;

Challenge and work to heal environmental injustices.

Build awareness of environmental issues;

Encourage personal lifestyle changes;

Motivate community action on environmental issues;

In 1994 the UUA passed a Resolution on Environmental Justice. In 2006, it passed a Statement of Conscience on Global Warming.  Join UUA President Rev. William Sinkford in a cyber march to stop global warming. Sign up at http://www.stopglobalwarming.org/sgw_marcher.asp?18763.
