Example Letter to Rep. Dave Obey on Niger Crisis

Dear Rep. Obey,

Although I am not a member of your congressional district, I am proud to have

you represent Wisconsin, and Wisconsin values, in the U.S. House of

Representatives.

I urge you to use the power and influence of your position as ranking Democrat

on the House Appropriation Committee to increase and quicken the U.S. response

to the crisis facing Niger.

Sincerely,

(Your name and address)

Example Letter to U.S. Senator Russ Feingold on Niger Crisis

Dear Senator Feingold,

I am proud to represented in the U.S. Senate by someone with your knowledge

and understanding of African affairs.  I know that you have been a leader

on bringing the U.S. to the Darfur Crisis.  I now call on you to lead the U.S.

in a response to the crisis in Niger.  Surely the U.S. can show the political

and moral will to end the suffering of the 3.6 million people in Niger who are

facing death by starvation.

Sincerely,

(Your Name and address)

These are examples.  Please not that they recognize the leadership of both of

these Wisconsin representatives.  The letters are short and personal.

Use them as you will - create your own - but raise your voice.
