UU Alliance Dues
When you pay your annual dues for the U-U Alliance of Madison, you have the option of also joining the Unitarian Universalist Women's Federation (UUWF) and the UU Women's Connection (successor organization to the Central Midwest District –UUWF).
The UUWF has undergone a transformation in recent years from a member services to a grant-giving and women's advocacy organization. The newly formed UUWF Grants Program offered its first grants this past year. Please check your copy of THE COMMUNICATOR (the UUWF newsletter) or www.uuwf.org for details of the worthy ventures being funded.
The Central Midwest District UU Women's Connection has also been transforming and re-visioning over the past three years. Their mission is to “connect women within the district. . . and to serve as liaison between women of the district and the larger UU movement.” Two retreats are held each year, and a quarterly newsletter is published. Grants are available for social justice projects in the district. Additional information can be found in the newsletter VOICES OF WOMEN and at www.uuwomensconnection.org.
Membership dues for these organizations are: $10 (U-U Alliance of Madison), $25 (UUWF), and $10 (The UU Women's Connection).
(NOTE: The membership dues for our local organization help with expenses, but do not cover the total costs. The U-U Alliance of Madison has had investment funds with the UUA for many years ; we use the interest from those funds for yearly program costs, contributions to FUS, charitable gifts, etc.) There are two investment funds – one started in 1943 and one started in 1967.
